2) WHAT OILS ARE USED IN YOUR SOAPS?
We use natural vegan oils in all of our soaps, without animal fats or animal bi-products. We've included a list of some of the oils on our "About" page. In addition, ingredients for each product are listed under the description.
Please note, the internet or your local library offers valuable information on the benefits of all of our ingredients. Because we are limited on space we do not list in detail the many extraordinary attributes of each.

3) ARE YOUR SOAPS MADE WITH THE SOAP YOU BUY IN CRAFT STORES?
No, the soap you buy in craft stores is known as “MELT & POUR”. Our soaps are handmade the old fashioned way, known as “COLD PROCESS”. We do not make our soaps any other way. Other methods affect the quality, texture and appearance of our soap, so we prefer the "COLD PROCESS" method. It does take us much longer to make our soaps, but the end result is what we’re all about!
Below is a very brief description (in non-chemical terms) of “COLD PROCESS” (method we use), "MELT & POUR" & "HOT PROCESS" soapmaking:
“COLD PROCESS” soapmaking begins with our exclusive recipes. We have determined an exact amount of pure natural oils that we blend with a precise amount of lye/water. Please note, the amount of oil, water and lye are extremely important when making “COLD PROCESS” soaps and must be calculated in advance. (Lye can be very dangerous to work with and must be treated as such). The calculated amount of oils will thicken when met with the calculated amount of lye/water mix. We add predetermined amounts of natural spices, herbs, botanicals and essential oils (if included in the recipe). When the blend is ready (thick, smooth consistency known as trace), we pour it into molds for 24 to 48 hours, remove, hand cut & store to cure for 4 to 6 weeks. The soap is ready to use (known as saponified; by converting fat into soap by reaction of alkali) after the cure period.
“MELT & POUR” is pre-made soap which you melt and pour into molds. You can add colorants, scents, etc. before you pour. Always read the ingredients of "MELT & POUR" pre-made soap bases, to ensure that you are getting what you want.
“HOT PROCESS” soapmaking is similar to “COLD PROCESS”. However, “HOT PROCESS” soaps are cooked and/or placed in an oven after the soap has been put into a mold. Once removed from the oven, they are ready to be cut and can usually be used within 24 to 48 hours.

4) WILL YOU MAKE A SPECIAL ORDER FOR ME?
Yes, we will do custom orders and/or labels. If you are interested in large orders of soap, we do require advance notice so the soap can be made and cure for at least four to six weeks. Contact us at bunkysblend@att.net for custom orders and labels.
